WHAT DO I DO IF I'M ABSENT FROM CLASS?
All students must come to school with a signed letter from their parent/guardian explaining the reason for their absence. Absentee notes must be turned into the students first period class teacher.​
HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO MAKE UP A MISSING HOMEWORK/CLASSWORK ASSIGNMENTS?
If you are absent on the day homework is due, it is expected the first day you return to school.
If homework is late for any other reason, these assignments will be accepted until the end of week in which it was assigned. Students will only be able to receive partial credit for the work.
In order to complete missing classwork, students should refer to the class website or check the "absentee work" labeled folder in the classroom. It is the students responsibility to make up any missed work including class notes.

WHAT IS THE GRADING POLICY?
Your grade will be based on four components each worth 25%:
Interim Assessments (exams), Transfer Tasks,(homework, projects), Classwork (journals, quizzes etc.), and Personal Growth (including participation). Each assignment is graded on a scale of 1-4.
4 – Exceeding standards
3 – Meeting standards
2 – Approaching standards

AM I EXPECTED TO READ AT HOME?
Yes! Students are required to read independetly or with a parent/guardian or sibling for at least 15-20 minutes a night and complete an entry in their reading journals.
